American Stage Theatre Company has announced its After Hours events this March with everything from the comedy improv to cabaret music at its best. This month the stage will have five entertaining events.

SUNDAY COMEDY SERIES:
Hawk and Wayne's News of the Weird: LIVE
An improv comedy show based on Chuck Shepherd's nationally-syndicated column.
Sunday, March 3 @ 8pm

Ever wonder what happened to that guy who ate the other guy's face in Miami? What about the lady that drove all night in a diaper? Or even the crocodile that was found attacking a pair of crocs...shoes? Using some of the stories from Chuck Sheperd's nationally syndicated News of the Weird column, critically acclaimed comedy duo Hawk & Wayne bring you their most original, hilarious and truly weirdest improv comedy show ever. Come by and prepare to laugh at stuff that writes itself and is destined for a good comedy scene. First Sunday of every month running through August 2013.

Exploring the sexier, steamier side of the Great American Songbook
Starring Paul Wilborn and Blue Roses
Featuring Ms. Eugenie Bondurant and Frank Bowman

Saturday, March 9 at 8 pm
Sunday, March 10 at 6 pm

Paul Wilborn continues his exploration of the best American singers and songwriters, accompanied by his infectious piano stylings, his dry wit and his special guests, Ms. Eugenie Bondurant and Frank Bowman. This time, Paul and the band explore the sexy, steamy side of the Great American Songbook. You'll hear hot tunes that enlivened the Broadway stage, nightclubs, the speakeasies, the backstreet bars, show tents and bawdy houses of the 1920s, '30s, '40s and '50s. Composers include Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Fats Waller, George Gershwin, Gus Kahn, Walter Donaldson, and Rodgers and Hart, and some legendary cocktail party parodies laced with lyrical lust. This show is rated R for Racy!

The Most Outrageous Improvised Comedy Troupe in Tampa Bay

After a million years, Tampa's most outrageous improvised comedy troupe IS BACK! The WIT Improv cast will bring their outlandish brand of short form improvised comedy back to American Stage. Audiences are encouraged to bring open and creative minds to this performance since the entire show is based on their suggestions. This is the purest form of improvisation so who knows what will happen!

Obie Award-winner Eve Ensler's whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone: The Vagina Monologues introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."

LARK EDEN

Tracing the life-long friendships of three Southern women beginning in the Depression era and continuing through the early years of the new century, Lark Eden offers a poetic exploration of the ties that bind us together as tightly as family, and as surely as love. From frog catching girls with skinned knees to world wizened grandmothers, Lark Eden follows these three women through personal trials and victories no less daunting than the historical tribulations that provide the backdrop to these everyday American lives. Natalie Symons lives in Tampa with her husband and canine son. She is the author of a forthcoming novel and holds a degree in drama therapy from State University of New York, Empire State College. American Stage audiences last saw Natalie in The Foreigner.
