"After Hours" Series Movie Night
June 19 at 8 p.m.
All tickets: "Pay What You Can" at the door (suggested $5 to $15) and $15 in advance.
Throwing plastic spoons, wearing tuxedos, Johnny look-a-like contest, tossing footballs and shouting at the screen! Sounds like a horrible night at the movies (or one that's subversively genius)! Come see what the fuss is all about. THE ROOM is an interactive cult classic film was made in 2003 and is quickly becoming the "Rocky Horror" of our generation. Look it up... google it, but more importantly witness if for yourself. It must be seen to be believed. THE ROOM has been cited by some critics as one of the worst films ever made, and has been called "the 'Citizen Kane' of bad movies."
Prelude to Pride Fundraiser
THE DIVINE SISTER
By Charles Busch
June 20 at 7:30 p.m.
All Tickets: "Pay-What-You-Can" at the door and $15 in advance.
Charles Busch has put on a habit and created this gleefully twisted tale of the secret lives of nuns on a mission. "My dear, we are living in a time of great social change and we must do everything in our power to stop it," says the Mother Superior, who is portrayed by Matthew McGee. There's a bulging roster of Sisters with secrets: Sister Acacius (Becca McCoy), the hearty convent wrestling coach; Sister Walburga (Hersha Parady), a recent transplant from Berlin; and the fresh-faced postulant, Agnes (Betty-Jane Parks) who encounter a rich atheist spinster (Alison Burns) and a former lover turned reporter with a promiscuous past (Joey Panek). Through special arrangement with Samuel French in New York. All of the performers are contributing their time and talents to this event. Proceeds from this event benefit Metropolitan Charities and the Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project.
