The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts will welcome SEOP Dance Company for a one-night-only performance of their piece A Man's Requiem on March 5. The show is a part of the Ordway's World Music and Dance Series sponsored by Target. Tickets start at $23 and can be purchased online at www.ordway.org, by phone at 651-224-4222 or in person at the Ordway ticket office.

Founded in 1992, SEOP is a South Korean dance company that fuses Butoh, a form of Japanese dance theatre, with contemporary and traditional Korean dance techniques. Their celebrated piece, A Man's Requiem, tells the story of a sinner's judgement day. Using playfulness and theatricality, the work explores the theme of destiny and the afterlife. Since premiering at the World Festival of National Theaters in Korea, A Man's Requiem has toured extensively through nine countries.

"A Man's Requiem is a visually stunning piece that makes the viewer see things like karmic actions and sins, judgement in the afterlife, and the notion of reincarnation in a new light," said Dayna Martinez, Ordway's artistic director of World Music & Dance. "SEOP Dance Company has a wonderful ability to make grand, thought-provoking work that is also very approachable to audiences. They're one of Korea's finest dance companies, and we're thrilled to welcome them to St. Paul."
