The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music will return to the Ordway for a third year in a row. On Saturday, Mar. 22, the Ordway will present two screenings of the popular film at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $27.

Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in full-screen Technicolor, complete with subtitles so the whole audience can sing along. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for a chance to win prizes in a costume contest, which begins a half hour prior to the performance times. Back at the Ordway by popular demand, this crowd-pleasing, interactive show is fun for the whole family.

Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music opened at the Prince Charles Cinema in London's West End in August of 1999. The show received significant TV and press coverage. Due to the publicity craze, regular performances were scheduled at the cinema. The Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music show has now become a worldwide hit, playing to packed houses across the globe with over 10,000 performances in 11 different countries.

The Ordway is widely recognized as one of the nation's leading nonprofit performing arts centers and Saint Paul's most elegant and inviting performance space. The Ordway's Music Theater and soon-to-be completed Concert Hall attract diverse audiences with an array of productions showcasing the finest in American musical theater, world music, dance and vocal performance. Education and community engagement are integral to the Ordway's mission, with major initiatives including the annual Flint Hills International Children's Festival and Ordway Education programs that serve more than 50,000 students annually. The Ordway also sponsors the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, a professionally guided academic and artistic environment that trains aspiring pre-professional performing artists. Together with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera and The Schubert Club, the Ordway is a member of the Arts Partnership and serves as the principal venue for their performances.
