A truly original musical honoring brothers and sisters, parents and children, set against the background of the ever-changing world of mid-century America, "John& Jen" is a gem of a show brimming with intelligence, wit, and beautiful melodies. This is the story of Jen and her relationships with the two Johns in her life: her younger brother, who was killed in Vietnam, and his namesake, her son. As the country becomes divided over the war in Vietnam, so does the family, and battle lines are drawn between the once-close siblings. When John is killed in Vietnam, Jen is left to reconcile her memory of their fractured relationship along with her son who is trying to find his way in a confusing world. A chamber musical, beautifully scored for piano, cello, and percussion, "John & Jen" is a musical about connections, commitments, and the healing of the human heart.

The Insight Theatre Company production stars Spencer Davis Milford and Jenni Ryan. "Sharing Insights" is a Q&A talk back session after each performance with members of the cast and crew.

What is the history of Insight Theatre Company ?

Insight Theatre Company was formed in June 2008 as a result of Maggie Ryan’s dream to found a professional theater company that would not only present excellent theatre, but would offer students the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals. Insight Theatre was officially incorporated in June 2009 with Maggie Ryan as Artistic Director. A Board of Directors was formed and by laws created with the help of VLAA. The 501(c)(3) final determination was received on March 4, 2010.
