The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) is pleased to announce that after a long national search, Seth Gordon has been selected to fill the vacant position of associate artistic director.

"We are excited to have Seth Gordon join The Rep family. He will be a strong addition to our staff and to the theatre community here. Seth has done a lot of work in new play development at Primary Stages in New York and also while working at The Cleveland Play House. He also has a very strong directing background." said Steven Woolf, The Rep's artistic director, "It has been a long process to find someone with the personal and professional qualities we have been looking for to fill this position and I am so pleased that Seth will be here in St. Louis."

Seth stated, "I'm thrilled to be joining The Rep. The work is top notch and the staff really cares about the product they put on the stage, the audience that comes to see it and the community they serve. I'm excited to get started there and help with that cause. Steve Woolf seems like a truly good man who understands what it takes to make top quality theatre, and I'm very moved by his offer to work there. My career has been devoted to the development of new plays and bringing the finest theatre possible to my community in ways that are relevant to them. I can't wait to meet my new community and I hope to serve them well."

Seth currently holds the position of associate artistic director for The Cleveland Play House where he produces FusionFest, helps with season planning and casting, runs the Playwrights' Unit, and directs plays. His Play House directing credits include Dinner with Friends, Proof, Forest City (world premiere), Vincent in Brixton, Tuesdays with Morrie, A Christmas Story, RFK, Of Mice and Men, The Chosen, Doubt, The Lady with All the Answers and next season Inherit the Wind. He has also directed in Cleveland for Dobama Theatre, the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, and the Beck Center for the Arts. He recently directed the Arabic premiere of Our Town in Cairo. Previously, he served as literary manager and then as associate producer of Primary Stages in New York, where he produced and/or directed countless productions, workshops and readings of new plays by this country's leading playwrights. He has also directed at many other New York theatres, and has directed and lectured at various universities including Case Western Reserve University. He received the 2004 and 2006 Northern Ohio Live Award for Excellence in Theatre.
