The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) is proud to announce its 2013-2014 season of performances in the Studio Theatre.

The Studio Theatre series opens in the Emerson Studio Theatre at the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, on October 30, 2013 with Freud's Last Session by Mark St. Germain and directed by Rep veteran director Michael Evan Haney (Double Indemnity). Freud's Last Session (October 30-November 17, 2013) is a humorous, insightful and intellectually riveting play about a fictional meeting between legendary psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud and young writer C.S. Lewis. The debate between these two colossal, charismatic thinkers becomes a dissection of love, sex, science and faith.

The Studio Theatre series continues with The Other Place (January 22-February 9, 2014) by Sharr White and directed by Rep veteran director Rob Ruggiero (Sunday in the Park with George). Brilliant research scientist Juliana Smithton is on the cutting edge in her field, but her life is beginning to come unhinged. While promoting her groundbreaking drug for the treatment of neurological disorders, she experiences a disturbing medical episode of her own and begins to lose her own tenuous grasp on reality. The past blurs with the present and fragmented memories collide in this riveting drama where nothing is as it seems.

Closing the Studio Theatre series is the world premiere of Soups, Stews and Casseroles: 1976 (March 12-30, 2014) by Rebecca Gilman and directed by The Rep's associate artistic director Seth Gordon (Venus in Fur). When the main employer in Monroe, Wisconsin is acquired by a major manufacturer, a once peaceful small town turns into a battleground as families struggle to retain their independence, identity and livelihoods. While new opportunities develop for some, difficult choices must be made, putting loyalties and relationships to the test. This world premiere play has been commissioned by The Rep and was developed through the Ignite! New Play Festival.
