Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, MO Announces 2011 Local Auditions

The Lyceum Theatre's yearly talent search begins officially in February.  Auditions will be held at the Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, February 25 and February 26, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Appointments for these auditions are recommended and can be made by contacting Leslie Bertani 660-837-3311 ext. 104.  Each auditionee must prepare 16 bars of 2 contrasting songs and one brief monologue.  An accompanist will be provided.  Children under the age of ten may audition with 16 bars of one song.  If not a singer, one monologue will be sufficient.

The Lyceum's 51st season rehearsals begin May 24, with performances running through November 20.  The 2011 Season includes Forever Plaid, Damn Yankees, The Sound of Music, Run For Your Wife, Agatha Christie's Black Coffee, The Fantasticks, Always...Patsy Cline and A Tuna Christmas.

"As always, we're looking for a very diverse group of actors," said Lyceum Artistic Director, Quin Gresham.  "In addition to the accomplished professional talent we'll bring to our stage this year, we're very excited about the opportunities this season affords to the many talented young people of our area.  Specifically we are seeking confident young local actors to play the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music." says Gresham 

Along with the local auditions, the Lyceum will attend Midwest Theatre Auditions to be held in St. Louis February 18th through the 20th. Information on these auditions can be found at www.webster.edu/depts/finearts/theatre/mwta.

Finally, the Lyceum Theatre announces New York auditions to be held by appointment only in March.  For an appointment, send headshot and resume by February 14th to the Audition Department, P.O. Box 14, Arrow Rock, Mo 65320.  You will be contacted by phone for audition time.  Additionally, the Lyceum will hold an Equity Principal Audtion (EPA) on March 4 at the Actors Equity Building, 165 West 46th Street, New York, NY from 9:30am - 5:30pm.
