Back in the mid-1990s, local singer and actor Deborah Sharn started a talk show about St. Louis theatre on KDHX 88.1 FM, called "Break a Leg: Theatre in St. Louis and Beyond." After being a guest a few times, local director and author Scott Miller joined Sharn as co-host in 1999. And still today, after more than ten years on the air, "Break a Leg" continues to spotlight local theatre companies and artists, and on occasion, writers and performers from Broadway and off Broadway. It's the only show in town where working theatre artists interview working theatre artists. "Break a Leg" airs every Weds. night at 7:30 on KDHX 88.1 FM

In just the past year, Sharn and Miller have featured on their show local companies The Rep, The Black Rep, Stray Dog Theatre, HotCity, West End Players Guild, Muddy Waters, Echo Theatre Company, New Jewish Theatre, New Line Theatre, St. Louis Actors Studio, Imaginary Theatre Company, Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater, The Fox, Take Two Productions, Union Avenue Opera, Lindenwood University, St. Louis Shakespeare, [insert name here] theatre company, The Orange Girls, Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble, Act Inc., The Muny, Stages St. Louis, Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, Upstream Theatre, Washington University, and West End Players Guild; as well as out-of-towners like Broadway bookwriter and lyricist Steven Sater (Spring Awakening) and Broadway composer and lyricist Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde).

"Break a Leg" has also played host to Broadway legend Barbara Cook; Broadway and film stars Eartha Kitt, Ted Neeley, Ken Page, Andrea Marcovicci, Dee Hoty, Patrick Cassidy, and B.D. Wong; Broadway actors Doug Storm, Deven May, Marin Mazzie, and Norbert Leo Butz; Broadway composers Stephen Schwartz, Adam Guettel, Laurence O'Keefe, Henry Krieger, Rupert Holmes, and Jeanine Tesori; New York cabaret legend Steve Ross; Broadway and cabaret stars Liz Callaway, Judy Kaye, Debbie Gravitte, and Craig Rubano; Broadway producer Rocco Landesman; Broadway lyricist Bill Russell; Broadway playwright Eve Ensler; the legendary stage director Anne Bogart; former New York Times senior theatre critic Frank Rich, stage, screen, and TV star John Astin; comedian and Broadway star Jackie Mason; plus other visiting actors and directors, cast members from current Broadway and off Broadway hits, and local writers, actors, directors, designers, critics, and more.
