Carlos Hipólito and Luis Merlo, two highly outstanding performers of the current scene, feature in this wonderful work by Catalonian playright Jordi Galcerán directed by the expert hand of Gerardo Vera, former Director of the National Drama Centre until 2011.
The comedy has been received by the audience with great enthusiasm and strong applause. Based on en endless succession of twists and unexpected circumstances, the play presents an unforgettable on-stage duel between two major actors that tells the story of a normal man and his attempts at being granted a small bank loan. He cannot offer any guarantees or properties, only his word of honour and a promise that he will eventually pay back every single penny. It is only to be expected, but he is turned down by the bank manager and this gives rise to a complicated although hilarious situation that ends with a big surprise.
"El crédito" is a very funny comedy that clearly portrays our current times of anguish against a backdrop of laughter and offers the audience many things to think about. Winner of the First Prize of Catalonian Drama.
