North Charleston Coliseum Performing Arts Center
4/16-4/17/2014
Million Dollar Quartet is the electrifying new musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis for the first and only time. On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Million Dollar Quartet brings that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock hits that includes "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "That's All Right," "Sixteen Tons," "Great Balls of Fire," "Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Who Do You Love?," "Real Wild Child," "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Hound Dog." This thrilling musical captures the singular moment when four major talents came together to become a red-hot rock i¿½n' roll band. Don't miss your chance to be a fly on the wall of fame... at Million Dollar Quartet.

Bell Auditorium
4/18-4/18/2014
A critical smash on Broadway and in London, the two-time Tony Award winning hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Their quest for true meaning in a post 9/11 world leads them on the most exhilarating theatrical journey of the season. Based on Green Day's GRAMMY Award-winning multi-platinum album, AMERICAN IDIOT boldly takes the American musical where it's never gone before. The result is an experience Charles Isherwood of The New York Times declares "thrilling, emotionally charged, and as moving as any Broadway musical I've seen this year!" Featuring the hits "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "21 Guns," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "Holiday" and the blockbuster title track, AMERICAN IDIOT features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, direction by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), choreography by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (Black Watch), music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), Tony Award winning set design by Christine Jones and Tony Award winning lighting design by Kevin Adams.

Now Playing Onstage in South Carolina - Week of 4/13/2014 LES MISERABLES
SC SHAKESPEARE COMPANY
4/16-5/2/2014
This international smash-hit may be the most popular musical in the world. In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter. His world-view shattered, Javert commits suicide, and Valjean at last attains the peace he has sought for so long.Epic, grand and uplifting, LES MISÉRABLES packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. The sung-through pop opera is ideal for a cast of exceptional singers and overflows with melodies that are already standards. A spectacle on Broadway and in London, LES MISÉRABLES is equally effective with a minimal set; it is its powerful affirmation of the human spirit that has made LES MISÉRABLES a popular masterpiece.
