Morris Performing Arts Center Wins 2015 Prime Sites Award

The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, Indiana, was awarded a "2015 Prime Site Award" by Facilities & Event Management national magazine. Award winners will be announced in the Facilities & Event Management SuperBook to be published in July 2015. The Prime Site awards are voted on by over 10,000 people in the entertainment industry - booking agents, promoters, talent buyers and special event planners. The Morris has been awarded the coveted "Prime Site" designation for ten consecutive years from 2006-2015.

Mobile Production Monthly national magazine Volume 8, Issue 3 just released featured the Morris photo on the cover and in the article "It's Not the Size, It's How You Use It!" An additional article "The Exceptional Sound and Look of 'Plain' on Tour with John Mellencamp" featured Mellencamp's "Plain Spoken" tour audio and light staff working at the Morris January 21, 2015, for the tour opening concert.

At the Downtown South Bend, Inc. RAS (Restaurants, Attractions & Shops) meeting held May 14, 2015, the Morris was presented one of the firstDTSB "RAS Awards" for the Morris/SB150 Wooden Nickel contest. RAS Awards recognize downtown restaurants, attractions, and shops and highlights the great things downtown businesses are doing including creating marketing, collaboration, or steps taken to go above and beyond.

Originally opening in 1922, The Morris is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was completely restored and renovated in 2000. The MAGNIFICENT Morris is the HOTTEST TICKET in Northwest Indiana for live entertainment! The theater hosts a wide variety of concerts, national Broadway touring musicals, symphony, dance, comedians, and is home to the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Broadway Theatre League. The Morris has a fixed seating capacity of 2,500 and has been consistently ranked each year since 2000 by Pollstar concert industry magazine among the top 100 theaters worldwide. The Morris was awarded the TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence for 2 consecutive years (2013-2014). The Morris has been voted the South Bend Tribune Readers Choice Award for "Favorite Entertainment/Live Performance Theater" for 12 consecutive years (2003-2014).
