Armed with a ukulele and a touch of wit, South African comedian and radio broadcaster, Phil de Lange, presents his debut solo show, THE PHIL SPECTRUM, at the Alexander Upstairs this June. The show will then play a single performance at the Armchair in Observatory, Cape Town, and a season at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

THE PHIL SPECTRUM is a fun, tongue-in-cheek look at life and the many careers that can be crammed into a millennial's 20s. With stand-up, live radio sketches and comic songs into the mix, the show promises to be full of De Lange's trademark awkward, tongue-in-cheek and sometimes self-deprecating comic style.

De Lange, who hails from Bloemfontein, started performing in 2013 at the much-loved Armchair Theatre in Cape Town, which has sparked the careers of many South African comedians. Since then, he has performed at some of South Africa's best comedy venues and theatres, including the Cape Town Comedy Club, the Goliath Comedy Club, Parkers, the Soweto Theatre, the Artscape Theatre Centre and the Baxter Theatre. His festival sets have always gone down well at Rocking The Daisies, Synergy and the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. In 2016, he was nominated for an SA Comic's Choice Award in the Newcomer category.

THE PHIL SPECTRUM runs at the Alexander Upstairs from 19 - 20 June at 20:00. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, with tickets costing R80 if booked and prepaid online or R90 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.

The performance at the Armchair in Observatory, Cape Town takes place on 22 June at 20:00. Further details for this performance are available by email. The National Arts Festival run of the show follows from 29 June - 2 July at the Albany Cabaret Club. Tickets cost R60 and can be booked through the National Arts Festival website.
