MORE ADVENTURES OF NODDY will entertain
young audiences this June-July holiday.

During the three-week June-July winter holiday, young theatre-lovers will have the opportunity to see Noddy and his friends in NODDY in the Artscape Theatre Foyer. Stagecraft Drama Studio is in full swing with rehearsals for their production of acclaimed children's dramatist David Wood's adaptation of Enid Blyton's Noddy stories, presented by arrangement with David Wood and Darrell Waters Ltd.

Noddy, a little wooden toy who nods his head, is very lonely at Mr Carver, the toymaker's workshop, so he runs away to Toyland. There he bumps into Big Ears who wants to know who he is as he does not look like a toy, because only toys are allowed to stay in Toyland. The audience must decide whether Noddy is a toy or not. Noddy learns the value of friendship, hard work and honesty through a series of adventures and as he builds his own house in Toyland, all adding up to great entertainment that children will enjoy.

Prior to the performance, children are invited to participate in exciting activities in the foyer of the Artscape Theatre Centre such as face painting, colouring in, puzzles, play tents and black bikes to ride. On 4 July, audience members are invited to dress up as their favourite Noddy character.

NODDY is directed by Cheryl Abromowitz and Caryn Reznik and opens on 27 June with a specially reduced ticket price of R60. For the rest of the run through 9 July, tickets are R80 per person and can be booked at Artscape Dial-a-Seat 021 421 7695 or Computicket. Block bookings of 20 or more qualify for 10% discount. It is advisable to reserve tickets in advance. The show runs at 10:30 daily, excepting Sundays.
