Junkets Publishers Heading to National Arts Festival

Junkets Publishers is heading off to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown this year, where the company will see a further launch of its groundbreaking NOW I AM ALONE compliations as part of the Think Fest and exhibiting books from its The Playscript Series, The Collected Series, The New Voices Series, BaxterJunkets and GayJunkets imprints at the Word Fest. Three Junkets plays are also being staged at the Festival and Junkets will also have a presence at the Schools Festival.

NOW I AM ALONE: SA MONOLOGUES F & M 16+ are two collections of South African monologues, compiled by Robin Malan, Diana Wilson and David Fick. The Think Fest Launch of the book will take place on Saturday 12 July at 11:00 in the Nun's Chapel. The Junkets exhibition stand will run for the last four days of the Word Fest in the Eden Grove Building in Lucas Avenue.

At the Schools Festival, Junkets will take be present on the afternoon of Sunday, 13 July during registration in the Monument foyer, will showcase two lecture demos at 08:30 on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 July and will exhibit and sell books during the teachers' evening in the Monument from 18:00 on the Wednesday evening.

The three Junkets plays that are being staged at the National Arts Festival this year are THE BOY WHO WALKED INTO THE WORLD by Robin Malan, directed by Motlatji Ditodi for UJ Arts & Culture (Main Programme Student Theatre, in the Rehearsal Room at the Monument), ISYSTEM Anele Rusi, directed by Fatima Dike for Artscape (Fringe Programme, in the Gymnasium) and RAINBOW SCARS by Mike van Graan, directed by Greg Homann for Artscape (Fringe Programme, in the Gymnasium).
