Herman Vorster and Vianney Farmer

After travelling across South Africa, BRENT - A MOBILE THIRLLER will hit the streets of Pretoria, with Tshwane audiences in now able to experience the thrill of this innovative and immersive theatre creation. The latest in a series of "mobile thriller" presentations, which are the first and, as yet, the only presentation of their kind in South Africa, follows the sold-out and award-winning productions ONSKULD and ALEXA.

Quintin Wils, the multple award-winning director, designer and conceptualiser of BRENT - A MOBILE THRILLER, describes the production as 'an intense and exciting immersive production which has never before been done in South Africa'. He explains:

Audience members literally drive in the car with the actors where the mystery of conversion therapy will start to unfold itself in the car. We can thus only take three audience members at a time.

Written by Herman Vorster, BRENT - A MOBILE THRILLER is set in the streets of Centurion, with audience members joining the characters in a car as they start to prepare for a party they have been invited to for the evening.

Wils hopes that audiences can relate to the topic matter and characters and enjoy a theatre event unlike any other before seen or experienced in South Africa. He continues:

I wanted audiences to become and feel part of each character's life, almost as if they know them personally, therefore the whole experience of the production is pretty much immersive in its design and execution. BRENT - A MOBILE THRILLER is special in it that it has an extremely immersive feel to it, even to such an extent that one is bound to forget that you are actually watching a theatre production.

Starring Vianney Henry Farmer and Herman Vorster, BRENT - A MOBILE THRILLER has already played sold-out runs in Cape Town and at the National Arts Festival. The "mobile thriller" series was presented accolades for Best Concept from Die Reviewer in 2014 and 2015, also earning a Naledi Theatre Award nomination for Best Cutting Edge Production in 2015

BRENT - A MOBILE THRILLER is showing from 4 - 19 November and departs from the Eldo Little Theatre in Centurion. Seating is limited and only three audience members per performance are allowed, so early bookings are recommended. Tickets can be booked by emailing Quintin Wils or calling 0845259585. The show carries an age restriction of 18 (L/P/V/N) and is unsuited for sensitive viewers. View a trailer for the production below.
