Cat Simoni and Paul Spence

After her hit Barbra Streisand solo show THE WAY WE WERE, Cat Simoni returns to the Rosebank Theatre in August with her new show, FRANCOISE HARDY & BREL, SO ALIVE, SO WELL!

FRANCOISE HARDY & BREL, SO ALIVE, SO WELL! is a show of fabulous songs, crazy love, fun and pure joie de vivre featuring all the major 60s hits of French pop stars, Françoise Hardy & Jaques Brel, including "Find Me A Boy", "All Over The World", "Catch A Falling Star", "Only You Can Do It", "Marathon", "Amsterdam", "Carousel", "Madeleine", "The Bulls" and "If We Only Have Love". The songs are all in English with a French flavour. The show is written, directed by and co-stars Paul Spence.

On a rainy night in the spring of 1961, the in-crowd are packed into Café L'amour, the most happening club in Paris, for another swinging cabaret. This is going to be a sensational night for American owner Joe Cottonfield, who is always on the lookout for new talent, because not only is the newly-crowned king of chansons about to walk in, there is also an unknown, beautiful young student of the Sorbonne in the crowd, with a guitar. Her name is Françoise Hardy.

FRANCOISE HARDY & BREL, SO ALIVE, SO WELL! will be performed on Tuesdays - Saturdays at 8pm from 29 July - 9 August at the Rosebank Theatre (which is situated at 16 Alma Road, Rosebank in Cape Town, on the Liesbeek Parkway side of the railway line). There will be a matinee on Saturdays at 3pm. Tickets, costing R120, with a R60 concession for students as well as for the pensioners' matinee performance) can be booked at Webtickets (www.webtickets.co.za) or by calling 074 101 5066.
