Cat Simoni

CAT SINGS ELLA!, a musical theatre experience of pure pleasure that promises to stir 'Body and Soul', will play a season at the Rosebank Theatre in Cape Town this May and June, prior to a run at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July.

Cat Simoni rides the exhilarating rollercoaster of Ella Fitzgerald's extensive repertoire, from the early Harlem years to the Decca and Verve recordings; from the breakthrough 'A-Tisket, A-Tasket' to her Cole Porter and Duke Ellington songbooks. Simoni has previously thrilled audiences at the Rosebank Theatre with her hit Barbra Streisand solo show, THE WAY WE WERE, and a two-person tribute show, FRANCOISE HARDY & BREL, SO ALIVE, SO WELL!, with Paul Spence.

Bookings for CAT SINGS ELLA! at the Rosebank Theatre can be made on Webtickets or by calling Liz on 072 316 6133. Tickets cost R140 for the shows, which take place at 20:15 nightly on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 26 May - 13 June. Two matinee performances will take place at 15:00 on 6 and 13 June, for which performances pensioners will pay R60 for their tickets. Details for the Grahamstown run (from 2 - 8 July) are available on the National Arts Festival website.
