Alan Committie

This springtime, Alan Committie will play a return season of THE SOUND OF LAUGHTER at Theatre on the Bay, following its festive season run last year.

As a 40-year-old comedian with slightly greying hair, Committie is trying to be a little more serious about his comedy. Which essentially means new material but the same suit, covering - amongst a lot of other things - selfies to Mordor-onic Elfies, banting whilst bunting, the weighty issues of gym and health, the final say on the Pistorius trial, economy class bread rolls and a powerful if ineffective examination of WAR HORSE and why it cannot solve the Middle East Crisis. There is also an aerial silk act - the dangers of unitards! - and a special appearance by Johan van der Walt on behalf of Eskom.

THE SOUND OF LAUGHTER promises to be an evening audience will not to want to miss, in the traditions of NO, SERIOUSLY?, HAPPILY EVER LAUGHTER!, FULLY COMMITTIED and BIGGER! BETTER!! FASTER!!! The show runs from 16 September - 3 October from Tuesdays to Fridays at 8pm, with Saturday shows at 5pm and 8.15pm. Bookings are through Computicket.
