ANTHOLOGY: A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER, an hour-long collection of short plays by Louis Viljoen, Nicholas Spagnoletti and Jon Keevy, will be on stage this April at the Alexander Bar and Café's Upstairs Theatre. Featuring Adrian Collins and Amy Wilson, the plays are directed by Viljoen and Keevy themselves, while Megan Furniss will stage Spagnoletti's contribution this anthology of playlets all riffing its titular theme. First presented in a limited run in December last year, ANTHOLOGY was hatched as a platform for local writers to experiment with short format plays, network and have fun.

In Keevy's "Bullet Point", an enigmatic package throws two con artists into a tight spot, while Spagnoletti's "Drowned Bride" finds a best man and a bride the bottom of the Atlantic, dead, after the wedding went horribly wrong. Finally, in Viljoen's "Tropicalypse" - some hangovers feel like the end of the world; some hangovers are the end of the world.

The writers were given the theme, and aside from constraints on cast-size and set, total freedom. Brilliant acting talents Collins and Wilson are up for the challenge that ANTHOLOGY: A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER presents.

The first short run of ANTHOLOGY: A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER proved to be popular with audience, so before moving on to the next edition. it was decided to reprise the first collection of plays - with one exception. Candice D'Arcy, the writer-director of "Fundamental" has moved on to Australia, with "Bullet Point" taking its place here. Brendon Daniels, who features in "Fundamental", will return in the second ANTHOLOGY presentation in August.
