BroadwayWorld was saddened to report that Broadway veteran Merwin Foard recently passed away at 59 years old. Born September 16, 1960 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Foard was last seen on Broadway in Aladdin as a standby for Jafar/Sultan.

REPRISE 2.0 (led by Producing Artistic Director Marcia Seligson), in association with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT) chaired by Brian Kite, presents its inaugural production of Sweet Charity.  Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall with musical direction by Gerald Sternbach, the classic Broadway hit plays through July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. ANNIE, the new production of the Tony Award-winning musical, went into rehearsal today in New York City with its full company. The production begins previews October 3, 2012 and opens November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). Meet the full cast below!

Nikki Gil (Charity Hope Valentine) and newbie theater actor, Kris Lawrence (Oscar Lindquist), led the opening of the classic Broadway musical comedy, SWEET CHARITY, at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Makati City last night.

Nikki Gil plays a dancer for hire, Charity Hope Valentine; Ciara Sotto plays one of Charity's best friends, Helene; OJ Mariano dabbles in double roles as an Italian film star, Vittorio Vidal, and as a charismatic religious leader of the Rhythm of Life Church, Daddy Johann Sebastian Brubeck; and Sheree Bautista plays one of Charity's co-dancers, Carmen; when SWEET CHARITY opens on Friday, August 5 at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater, RCBC Plaza Makati City.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the commencement of a weekend of sold-out performances for High Spirits, the second of three Spring 2009 Musicals in Mufti staged concert presentations, playing this weekend until June 14.

The 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company season continues with 'I Love My Wife' with book and lyrics by Michael Stewart and music by Cy Coleman, December 2 to 14 at the Brentwood Theatre. Lea Thompson and Patrick Cassidy join Vicki Lewis and Jason Alexander. 'I Love My Wife' will be directed by Larry Moss with choreography by Lee Martino and music direction by Michael Skloff.

On Wednesday, December 7, 2005 The Pajama Game held a preview for the press in New York City. The musical begins previews on January 19th and opens on February 23rd.

The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. For In My Life, the Robe was presented to Brynn Williams.

Broadway Bares 15 took place on June 19th, raising a record-breaking amount of money for Broadway Cares and BroadwayWorld was backstage - camera in hand!

Stars in the Alley, the annual outdoor concert that features the stars of some of Broadway's most popular musicals took place on June 1 in Shubert Alley

The Theatre World honors are awarded to performers for making their first major New York stage appearance.

For Sweet Charity, the Gypsy Robe, which is given to the cast member with the most Broadway chorus credits was presented to Dylis Croman.

After the show, the cast and crew of Sweet Charity celebrated their opening night on May 4, 2005 at Guastavino's.
