Original Broadway and off-Broadway cast member Arnie Burton just departed the two-time Tony Award winning hilarious hit comedy 39 STEPS following his 1,000th performance as Man #2/Clown #2 last night, September 28th. Having originated the role in the original Broadway production, Burton returned for the current engagement at the Union Square Theatre. Cameron Pow (The Lion King) will join the cast on Wednesday, September 30th, taking over for Burton.

Wichita's theatre community has been buzzing with the hype of August: Osage County by Tracy Letts. The regional premiere of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning play is taking place at Wichita Community Theatre January 29th through February 15th. A multi-generational ensemble of some of Wichita's finest actors gave an opportunity for many actors and technicians to stretch their limits and challenge themselves, in a way only a magnificent script can.

Nominated in 2008 for 13 Tony Awards, taking home four including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestration, In the Heights is an exuberant contemporary musical that follows three days in the lives of residents living in New York's largely Hispanic Washington Heights neighborhood. Aurora's Paramount Theatre launched its third Broadway subscription series today with the first local professional staging of In the Heights, one of Broadway's most acclaimed contemporary musicals, a potent reminder of the importance of chasing one's dreams, and the show all of Chicago will be talking about this fall. The Human Race Theatre Company begins the 2013-2014 Eichelberger Loft Season-its 27th season of producing professional theatre in downtown Dayton-with Steven Dietz's hilarious Becky's New Car. Becky Foster is stuck in neutral-middle aged, in middle management and a middling marriage-until an honest misunderstanding with a wealthy widower offers her the chance at an exciting double life...and she takes it. Now she's frantically juggling to keep her two worlds apart before everything threatens to come crashing down on her. It's enough to drive Becky off a cliff, and she's taking the audience along for the ride! Dietz, a highly prolific author and one of the most widely produced playwrights in America, was commissioned by Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre to write Becky's New Car in 2008 as a birthday present from one of the theatre's donors to his wife. Since then, the comedy has been delighting audiences on numerous stages from coast to coast. Check out the just-released promotional shots below!

As previously announced, the producers of 'HAIRSPRAY' are delighted to welcome Brian Conley to the role of larger-than-life 'Edna Turnblad' in the hit musical, currently playing at London's Shaftesbury Theatre. Brian is joined by Chloe Hart, taking over as big-haired big-hearted 'Tracy Turnblad' and Liam Tamne as heart-throb 'Link Larkin'. The trio join the production on July 27th.

Previews are now underway at Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) for the New York premiere of Our House, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (The Butterfly Collection and Bad Dates at Playwrights Horizons, Broadway's Mauritius, co-author of Omnium Gatherum). A scathing new comedy that shakes up Reality TV, Our House is the final production of the theater company's 2008/2009 Season.

Following a critically acclaimed World Premiere at The 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, Razors Edge Productions proudly presents a revival of Zombie, an award-winning solo play by Bill Connington, adapted from the novella by Joyce Carol Oates. Zombie is directed by Thomas Caruso and performed by Bill Connington. Zombie began performances on February 18 and continues through March 29, 2009 in a limited 6-week engagement at the Theatre Row Complex (Studio Theatre), located at 410 West 42 Street between 9 & 10 Avenues in NYC. Berkeley Repertory Theatre greets the new year by proudly presenting its 50th world premiere, a new comedy about marriage, intimacy, and electricity from the creators of Eurydice. Celebrated playwright Sarah Ruhl and Obie Award-winning director Les Waters come together again for the debut of In the Next Room (or the vibrator play). Commissioned by Berkeley Rep and staged in the state-of-the-art Roda Theatre, this hotly anticipated play begins previews on January 30, opens February 4, and closes March 15. BART and Wells Fargo serve as season sponsors for Berkeley Rep's 41st year of fearless theatre, and the executive producer for this show is the Strauch Kulhanjian Family.

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls and renowned actor Brian Dennehy bring their artistic partnership to new heights with Eugene O'Neill's haunting drama, Desire Under the Elms?marking their fifth collaboration on O'Neill's work over two decades. Falls' cast includes stage and screen stars Carla Gugino (Entourage, Spy Kids, Sin City) Pablo Schreiber (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Awake and Sing!), Boris McGiver (The Wire) and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac). The centerpiece production of Goodman Theatre's two-month 'A Global Exploration: Eugene O'Neill in the 21st Century,' Desire Under the Elms appears January 17 ? The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson)officially opened TAKING OVER, the first new solo play by OBIE Award winner Danny Hoch in 10 years, on Sunday, November 23 at 7 p.m. Directed by Tony Taccone, TAKING OVER will run through Sunday, December 14.

THREE CHANGES a new play by Nicky Silver, will open at Playwrights Horizons on September 16th, 2008. Directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore) in his Playwrights Horizons debut, the production began previews on Friday August 22nd.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre kicks off its 2008/09 Season with the world premiere of a provocative new play set in Berkeley and written by a Berkeley native: renowned playwright Itamar Moses returns to his hometown with Yellowjackets, a script set just around the corner in the halls of his alma mater

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway Debut in the musical A Chorus Line on April 15th. Mr. Lopez is an 'Extra TV' host and was a finalist on 'Dancing with the Stars'. His first performance will be on Tuesday April 15th, 2008 and he is scheduled to run until Sunday, September 7, 2008. He will be on hiatus from the show from Sunday, May 11, 2008 through Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008.

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway debut Tuesday, April 15, in A CHORUS LINE. He is taking over the role of Zach, the demanding director who is casting the chorus roles for a new Broadway Musical.
