Over 300 distinguished guests from the worlds of business, culture, media and philanthropy came together last night for an inspiring awards dinner benefitting Malaria No More. The global nonprofit organization honored Alere Inc. (NYSE: ALR) and Al Jazeera America for their commitments to the fight against malaria. The event raised $1.47 million. The event featured dinner and entertainment from the Afro-beat band and dancers from the Tony award-winning Broadway Show FELA!, Chop and Quench. The global nonprofit organization dedicated to ending malaria deaths honored Alere with the Corporate Citizenship Award and Al Jazeera America with the Media Leader. Scroll down for photos!

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's quirky and tender comedy Be a Good Little Widow. Directed by Hal Brooks, Be a Good Little Widow will run May 11 - June 9, 2013 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Hailed by Charles Isherwood of The New York Times as a 'spoof of children's theater with some truly funny songs and endearingly loopy performances from a cast of just three,' OEDIPUS FOR KIDS - a sold out hit at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival - is proud to announce two regional productions - at Nearly Naked Theatre (Phoenix, AZ) and Renegade Theatre (Orlando, FL) - in anticipation of an upcoming off-Broadway production. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) will begin previews on Friday, March 25 for the world premiere of URGE FOR GOING, written by Mona Mansour and directed by Hal Brooks. The third show in the 2010-2011 Public LAB season, URGE FOR GOING will run Friday, March 25 through Sunday, April 17 at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street), with an official press opening on Sunday, April 10. Single tickets are on sale now; all tickets for Public LAB productions are $15.

Long Wharf Theatre will present No Child..., written and performed by Nilaja Sun, directed by Hal Brooks, March 17 through April 18, 2010 on Stage II.

Clocking in at 90 minutes with no intermission and featuring Portland Center Stage favorite Ebbe Roe Smith as Ebenezer Scrooge, this year's Rose Riordan directed production of A Christmas Carol promises more spooky and sparkly bits per second than ever before... plus a plethora of pre-show treats and activities to make it a festive night out for the whole family.

No Strings Theatre Company presents 'The Same Life Over' written and directed by Mark Medoff. The play opens Friday, September 25 and runs through Sunday, October 11 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces.

Figaro runs April 25 through June 8. This show marries Mozart and Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the Tony Award-winning artists who brought you The Miser in 2006. No Child… runs May 11 through June 1. It's the stunning solo show about America's public schools from Obie Award-winner Nilaja Sun.
