Having garnered acclaim for performances on stage and screen,Megan Hilty makes her Cafe Carlyle debut in a two-week engagement, now through June 7. She performs songs from the television show 'Smash,' in which she starred, as well as selections from American Songbook and jazz standards. Hilty is joined by Music Director Matt Cusson on piano, Brian Gallagher on guitar, Ryan Hoagland on percussion and Dennis Keefe on bass. (more...)

The one-night concert of Marc Blitzstein's iconic work benefits The Acting Company, which LuPone founded alongside Kevin Kline, John Houseman and Margot Harley. The collaboration of Jules Stein and Stephen Sondheim on GYPSY provided the late Ethel Merman with a career boost into immortality. What isn't familiar about this material? Everyone knows the general outline of the play itself - 'Mama' Rose is 'Mommie Dearest' without the wire hangers; at the beginning of the play, she practically declares war on a quiet home life and, taking with her daughters June (the precocious and 'pretty' one) and Louise (the shy and recessive one), she practically declares war on domesticity and seeks to channel her dreams through their success. NYC Parks Cuts the Ribbon on Newly Improved Highbridge Rec Center

On Monday, May 5, NYC Parks First Deputy Commissioner Liam Kavanagh joined Congress Member Charles Rangel, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Community Board 12 District Manager Ebenezer Smith, and Joel Towers, Executive Dean of Parsons The New School for Design, to cut the ribbon on the newly restored Highbridge Recreation Center in Northern Manhattan. The Highbridge Recreation Center, located on Amsterdam Avenue and West 173rd Street, underwent extensive renovations during the past three years, and NYC Parks and community partner organizations celebrated the center's re-opening with a day of free sports, fitness and educational activities for children and adults of all ages. BWW Reviews: Hamilton Music Academy Presents the Joyous Cole Porter Musical Comedy ANYTHING GOES!

The Hamilton Music Academy is blessed with one of the few remaining full auditoriums within Los Angeles City Schools, complete with wings that allow large set pieces to be moved on and off the stage. John Paul Luckenbach's set pieces appear to be easily and quickly moved by cast members, incorporating the changes into the show itself which kept the place flowing along at a steady pace thanks to Chelsea Field's direction.
