The Blues are Running Photos - Off-Broadway

The Anderson & Bert Cade Fulton Foundation, Andrea J. Fulton, Founder & Producer, in association with the Jamaica Performing Arts Center/JPAC, presents the return of August Wilson's TWO TRAINS RUNNING. Ms. Fulton first presented TWO TRAINS RUNNING in the summer of 2016 as a free community offering to 40-seat audiences in Bed-Stuy's Fulton and Von King Parks as part of 'August in August,' an arts initiative created by the Fulton Foundation in partnership with Joseph Grant, Jr., the Arts and Cultural Ambassador of Councilman Robert E. Cornegy, Jr.'s Office in the 36th District in Brooklyn. Scroll down for a look at that production!

If 'Adam's Rib' and 'Moneyball' mated and begat a play, it might be 'Skybox,' a comedy of class warfare and the battle of the sexes that is set in the luxury box of a major league baseball park. The play, written by Walt Stepp and directed by Lissa Moira, is the successor to their collaboration on 'Siren's Heart: Norma Jean and Marilyn in Purgatory,' a play by Stepp which started at Theater for the New City and is now running Off-Broadway at the Actors Temple Theatre. 'Skybox' has been extended at Theater for the New City through December 9, 2012. Get a first look at the show in the photos below!

THE RRAZZ ROOM, San Francisco's premiere nightclub, presents the debut solo engagement of Valerie Simpson running now through May 13. Ms. Simpson wrote some of the greatest love songs of a generation with her husband and writing partner, Nick Ashford, including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "You're All I Need To Get By," "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)" and "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing." But when he died of throat cancer in August at the age of 70, Simpson was cast adrift. After spending more than four decades together, she didn't know if she would ever get back on stage. A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, opening the A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season tonight, August 17 at the Loeb Drama Center. The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus. Check out the first production shots below!

The Obie Award-winning New Paradise Laboratories and The Riot Group present the New York Premiere of Freedom Club, written by Adriano Shaplin and directed by Whit MacLaughlin. Freedom Club runs from January 6 - 15, 2011, as part of the APAP Conference 2011, at the Connelly Theater, located at 220 East 4th Street between Avenues A and B in NYC.

Tony Award-winners Philip Bosco, Jim Norton and Ruben Santiago-Hudson, as well as Cheyenne Jackson, Kate Baldwin, and Jeremy Bobb star in Finian's Rainbow, the final production of New York City Center's 2008-09 Encores! season, running from March 26 - 29. Finian's Rainbow has music by Burton Lane, lyrics by E.Y. Harburg and book by E. Y. Harburg and Fred Saidy and will be directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle with music direction by Rob Berman. The musical will play five performances at City Center (West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues).

On Monday, April 10, 2006, the American Theatre Wing's annual Spring Gala honored The Odd Couple stars Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane for their creative achievements.
