Jean-Paul Sartre's iconic play 'No Exit' is receiving a solid production under the aegis of the Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble (SATE). It's directed by Bess Moynihan and uses a fresh new translation by Alyssa Ward.

Lili Marlene is the name of the famous German love song that was popular during World War II. The title of the play is in homage to the song, featuring one of the most famous versions sung in 1944 by Marlena Deitrich whose portrait hangs in the show's cabaret. We are told early in the musical that the fictional main character, Rosie Penn, was 'rescued by Marlena Deitrich' who acted as a mentor of sorts and made the young Rosie promise to sing Lili Marlene in her act. That request will ultimately prove to be the very thing that may save Rosie from the camps.

In 1940s New York, the performer who everyone wanted to see live was Florence Foster Jenkins, an enthusiastic soprano whose pitch was far from perfect. Based on a true story, Glorious! is Peter Quilter's hilarious, Olivier-nominated comedy that invites us into the world of this New York socialite of great passion, considerable wealth and zero talent who fancied herself an opera diva. Richard Israel directs a four-week run at International City Theatre, opening tonight, Oct. 10.

Britain's most famous short actor, Warwick Davis, best-known for his roles in Willow, Star Wars and the Harry Potter films is coming to Coventry's Belgrade Theatre from Mon 3 - Sat 8 March, starring in the classic comedy, See How They Run and we've got photos of the cast in rehearsal. In this unique version of the play, Warwick will be accompanied by his newly formed theatre company, The Reduced Height Theatre Company, a cast of actors entirely under 4 foot tall. Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Producing Director Richard M. Parison, Jr., presents Tennessee Williams' masterwork, A Streetcar Named Desire, as part of the theater's 15th Anniversary Season. Directed by Julianne Boyd, Streetcar stars three-time Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie as Blanche DuBois and Christopher Innvar as Stanley Kowalski, and will play on the Mainstage through August 29th, 2009, with a Press Opening which took place Sunday, August 9 at 5pm.
