Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) presents the first production of its 2009-2010 season. The world premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's play OOHRAH!, directed by Evan Cabnet, features Cassie Beck, Sami Gayle, Darren Goldstein, J.R. Horne, Jennifer Mudge, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe and Maximilian Osinski.

TWO UNRELATED PLAYS BY David Mamet: KEEP YOUR PANTHEON AND SCHOOL, directed by Neil Pepe, will feature the ensemble cast of Jeffrey Addiss, Michael Cassidy, Steven Hawley, J.J. Johnston, Jordan Lage, Brian Murray, Rod McLachlan, John Pankow, Jonathan Rossetti, Jack Wallaceand Todd Weeks.

The smash hit Off-Broadway musical,' Dames at Sea opens the Saint Michael's Playhouse summer 2009 season Tuesday, June 16, and runs through June 27, starring Broadway musical talent top to bottom. Tickets for the show are discounted 20% through the run of the show if bought as part of a four-play season subscription. Performances of 'Dames' are Tuesday, June 16 through Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. each evening and Saturday, June 20, and Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m., on the stage of the McCarthy Arts Center on the campus of Saint Michael's College.

Previews are now underway at Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) for the New York premiere of Our House, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (The Butterfly Collection and Bad Dates at Playwrights Horizons, Broadway's Mauritius, co-author of Omnium Gatherum). A scathing new comedy that shakes up Reality TV, Our House is the final production of the theater company's 2008/2009 Season.

The limited engagement of ROMANTIC POETRY celebrated opening night on Tuesday, October 28. Performances began September 30th 2008 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

The 20th Anniversary revival of David Mamet's Speed-The-Plow opened last night, October 23rd at the ETHEL BARRYMORE THEATRE (located at 243 West 47th St.) after beginning previews on Friday, October 3, 2008. Tonight, Sunday September 7, 2008 Rent will close at the Nederlander Theatre after the evening performance after playing 5,124 performances and 16 previews. On April 2nd, 2008 'Almost an Evening' opened on Bleecker Street. Ethan Coen's series of three one act plays unsuccessfully tackle important questions: Waiting - Someone waits somewhere for quite some time. Four Benches - His voyage to self-discovery takes a British intelligence agent to steam baths in New York and Texas, and to park benches in the U.S. And U.K. Debate - Cosmic questions are taken up. Not much is learned.
