Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Winter Benefit, an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring Broadway's brightest stars last night, February 3, 2014 at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Fredrick P. Rose Hall (Broadway & 60th Street). This year's Winter Benefit was directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Explorers Club) and featured performances by Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker (Shrek, Passing Strange), two-time Tony Award Winner Norbert Leo Butz (Big Fish, Catch Me If You Can ), two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie & Clyde), and two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (Romeo & Juliet, The Trip To Bountiful). Broadway's new musical Big Fish will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013. This is your last chance to see two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can), Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin (Giant, Finian's Rainbow) and Bobby Steggert (Giant, Ragtime) onstage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). 50 uniformed members of the USO attended the show earlier this week and you can check out photos of them with the cast below! Sixty-four exceptional students were nominated from each of the six cities BDF visited this summer to showcase their talents before an audience of the industry's top casting directors, agents and directors. The Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed Broadway's Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. The concert featured songs by Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney, Adam Guettel, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Elvis Costello, Chris Thile, and Sting. Joining Clarke were Musical Director/pianist Dan Lipton, along with singers Brian d'Arcy James, Cortes Alexander, Haven Burton and Jim Caruso.
