Hell in a Handbag Productions is concluding its 21st season with the world premiere musical parody Murder, ReWrote, playing August 10 – September 16, 2023 at The Den Theatre (Upstairs Mainstage) in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. The press opening is Sunday, August 13 at 7 pm. THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME opens on Friday, April 20, 2017 and runs through Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.  

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) opens its 2017-2018 season with Patrick Cassidy starring as the Pharaoh in a fresh new look at an all-time family favorite, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Tim Rice, musical direction by Dr. Cassie Nickols, choreography by So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Dave Scott and directed by 5-Star Theatricals Managing Director Will North.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) will begin previews on Friday, March 25 for the world premiere of URGE FOR GOING, written by Mona Mansour and directed by Hal Brooks. The third show in the 2010-2011 Public LAB season, URGE FOR GOING will run Friday, March 25 through Sunday, April 17 at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street), with an official press opening on Sunday, April 10. Single tickets are on sale now; all tickets for Public LAB productions are $15.

Star of the stage and screen, Jill Clayburgh passed away yesterday, November 5, at the age of 66. Clayburgh lost a 21 year battle with chronic leukemia. Clayburgh is survived by her husband, playwright David Rabe, and her daughter, Lily Rabe, who is currently starring in the Broadway production of 'The Merchant of Venice.'

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to present Michael Bennett's masterpiece, A CHORUS LINE, for a limited 3-week engagement through May 3, 2009. The award-winning show will play Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.).

The 'Wicked' and 'Pippin' composer gets an award and performs with Debbie Gravitte, Liz Callaway and Scott Coulter.

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway Debut in the musical A Chorus Line on April 15th. Mr. Lopez is an 'Extra TV' host and was a finalist on 'Dancing with the Stars'. His first performance will be on Tuesday April 15th, 2008 and he is scheduled to run until Sunday, September 7, 2008. He will be on hiatus from the show from Sunday, May 11, 2008 through Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008.

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway debut Tuesday, April 15, in A CHORUS LINE. He is taking over the role of Zach, the demanding director who is casting the chorus roles for a new Broadway Musical.

Christian Hoff, who won a 2006 Tony Award (Best Featured Actor) for his role as Tommy DeVito in the hit musical Jersey Boys, set a Guinness World Record for his work on the audio book Tell Me How You Love The Picture, a Hollywood memoir written by Academy Award-nominee Edward S. Feldman.
