Dickinson, with special guestNathan Lane, all took part in the 69th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony last night, June 3, 2013 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), home of the current Broadway revival of Pippin. The contestants for the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant included Callan Bergmann (Silence! The Musical), Julius C. Carter (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), Yurel Echezarreta (Matilda), Matthew Goodrich(The Nance), Orion Griffiths (Pippin), and Paul HeeSang Miller (Mamma Mia!). Four-time Tony nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuhhosted the event which took place last month at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). MATILDA THE MUSICAL was featured on ESPN this week when the Broadway hit collaborated with the Scripps National Spelling Bee to celebrate the power of words, learning and education. The 86th Annual Bee opened with a segment shot on stage at the Shubert Theatre featuring a monologue penned by the show's Tony Award nominated book writer Dennis Kelly and performed by Tony Award nominated Bertie Carvel as the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. The Royal Shakespeare Company's world premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical has captured the imagination of young and old alike and continues to play to packed houses at London's Cambridge Theatre.
