On Friday 17 March, the Olivier Awards 2023 with Mastercard hosted their Nominees’ Celebration, in partnership with Cunard at The Londoner hotel, the world's first super boutique hotel in the heart of London's theatre district. Due to record-breaking demand at Richmond Theatre and the Harold Pinter Theatre, Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions and Playful Productions today announce that Ivo van Hove's English language première of Hanya Yanagihara's critically acclaimed prize-winning novel, A Little Life, will now play a further five weeks only at the Savoy Theatre from 4 July.

Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, announced that Principal Dancer Piotr Stanczyk will retire after 25 years with The National Ballet of Canada in November of 2023. Stanczyk will dance in the company’s upcoming Winter and Summer Seasons and his farewell performances will take place in the Fall Season during the 2023/24 season.  

Beginning February 2023, Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) brings together over 150 artists and collectives from more than 70 countries for the 15th edition and 30-year anniversary of the Sharjah Biennial. Conceived by the late Okwui Enwezor and curated by the Foundation's Director Hoor Al Qasimi, Sharjah Biennial 15: Thinking Historically in the Present reflects on Enwezor's visionary work, which transformed contemporary art and has influenced the evolution of institutions and biennials around the world, including the Sharjah Biennial.

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) revealed during a press conference at Rogers Place in Edmonton, future home of the 2023 JUNO Awards, that Nickelback and Tate McRae will take the stage in their home province of Alberta when the show comes to town on Monday, March 13.

The freshly-minted Concordia University graduate and drummer presents a fusion of jazz and Peruvian music with her project Pizca, which features a mix of standards from both musical styles along with arrangements inspired by great legends and her own creations.

Music Director and Founder Marios Papadopoulos will conduct the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra - praised as 'excellent' by Gramophone magazine and 'thoroughly impressive' by BBC Music Magazine - in their Carnegie Hall Debut on Tuesday, June 7 at 7:30 PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.

When Adelaide-born Eleanor Stankiewicz was seven she watched the animated film Anastasia and imagined that it was the story of her grandmother. She would later discover as an adult that she wasn't so far from the truth, and so her award winning show Nanna-stasia was born. 

Michel Tremblay and André Brassard, who altered the face of Canadian theatre in 1968 with the explosive premiere of Les Belles-Soeurs, at Montreal's Théâtre du Rideau Vert, have been named the joint recipients of this year's Herbert Whittaker Award. The biennial award, from the Canadian Theatre Critics Association, honours individuals for outstanding long-term contributions to the Canadian stage.

Playwright and novelist Michael Frayn was today awarded  the Critics Circle Award for Services to the Arts, the Critics Circle’s highest honour. Every year since 1988, the Critics’ Circle has voted for a single leading artist to receive an engraved crystal rose bowl in recognition of their distinguished contribution to the arts.

Maggie & Ted is a highly acclaimed comedy-drama which lifts the lid on the rivalry between two formidable political figures from the same party. The West End début follows a hugely successful sell-out run at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington in 2019 and is the first political play to debut in the West End post lockdown. 

Three University of Wolverhampton graduates and a former Drama lecturer have collaborated to create a new all-female play which is currently being shown at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton.
