Invictus Theatre Founding Artistic Director Charles Askenaizer today announced full casting for the company’s season closing production of Edward Albee’s WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?. In this four-character drama that is often as wickedly funny as it is heartbreaking, two married couples battle with their spouses and each other over an alcohol-fueled night in a small, overstuffed living room. The tension the characters feel in these close quarters will be conveyed to the audience in Askenaizer’s storefront production in the 40-seat Reginald Vaughn Theatre at 1106 W. Thorndale, Chicago.

Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their 2018-2019 season would kick off in September with a new performance home, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. "For the first time, we will perform our entire season at the 1900 Building as we adore performing in their wonderful spaces," said Ioudenitch. "Now between their two fabulous concert halls and their delicious restaurant, classical music lovers can have a full evening of fine wines and food, and cap it off with our world-class musicians! We are two hidden jewels just now being discovered in the Kansas City arts public."

Actors Theatre of Louisville's Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein announce casting for For Peter Pan on her 70th birthday by acclaimed playwright Sarah Ruhl. Multi award-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant, known for her performance in Wit Off-Broadway, the Broadway productions of M. Butterfly, Angels in America and Racing Demon, and screen credits The Affair and House of Cards, will lead a stellar cast of actors that features an array of Broadway veterans, many making their debuts at Actors Theatre. For Peter Pan on her 70th birthday was commissioned by Actors Theatre of Louisville and will receive its world premiere during the 40th Humana Festival of New American Plays, March 8- April 10, 2016. The production will be directed by Les Waters.

Today, we're featuring Donald Sutherland and Blanche Baker circa 1981. Some of Sutherland's more notable movie roles have included offbeat soldiers in popular war movies such as The Dirty Dozen, MASH and Kelly's Heroes, as well as a diverse range of characters in other noted films such as, Fellini's Casanova, Klute, Don't Look Now, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, JFK, Ordinary People, Pride & Prejudice, and The Hunger Games. He is the father of actor Kiefer Sutherland. Hi Broadway credits include Lolita and Buck White. In 1980, Baker originated the lead role of a 12-year-old girl loved by a pedophile in Edward Albee's stage adaption of Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita.
