"All aboard!" for the next production at Terrific New Theatre, the poignant, slice-of-life dramedy "Bus Stop," by William Inge. This 1950s American classic will be directed by legendary TNT co-founder Carl Stewart. The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from June 13-29, plus two Sunday matinees, and will close TNT's 33rd season.

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to present Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. This madcap play about a weekend with the eccentric Bliss family will star the MFA Class of 2020 and a guest performer.  Director Jerrold Scott's production will take the audience back to the 1920's and remind them of the joy of life and fear of boredom. The show will run from February 27th-March 9th in Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

AmerIcon Monroe, in conjunction with Robo & Bash Productions and Cryptic Entertainment, proudly presents the timeless comedy, Bus Stop, by William Inge. The play, directed by Vanessa Waters, is taking place at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse in North Hollywood. The play opens February 8, 2019, and will run Friday through Sunday for three weekends. Showtime on Fridays and Saturdays is at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm. The play will close February 24, 2019.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 38th season of professional theater on Cape Ann with N. Richard Nash's moving American classic The Rainmaker from July 14 through August 5 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Set in the time of a paralyzing drought in Depression-era America, The Rainmaker tells the story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry, whose father and two brothers are worried as much about her marriage prospects as they are about their dying cattle. Enter Starbuck, the consummate con man, who promises to solve all their problems, for a fee. Directed by Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh, The Rainmaker cast features Brian Homer as Starbuck; Jessica Bates as Lizzie Curry; David DeBeck as H.C. Curry, the patriarch of the Curry family; Joe Short and Sean McCoy as the Curry brothers; Dave Rich as File and longtime Gordon College Professor of Theater Arts Norm Jones as Sheriff Thomas. N. Richard Nash's most celebrated play, The Rainmaker, appeared in all three mediums; on Broadway in 1954, as a motion picture starring Katharine Hepburn in 1956, and as a television production in 1982. A musical version of The Rainmaker, entitled 110 Degrees in the Shade, debuted on Broadway in 1963.

There's something noteworthy about a show that brings to life an eclectic collection of characters from decades ago with a relatable vigor. That's what the company Arvada Center's current production of William Inge's Bus Stop delivers.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will continue its 2016 - 2017 Black Box season with Bus Stop, directed by Allison Watrous, opening Friday, February 24, 2017. Bus Stop is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright William Inge, known for his portraits of small-town life in America's heartland. A drama infused with comedy and honesty, the play was nominated for four Tony Awards when it opened in 1955. 

American Theater Company (ATC) has restructured its 2016-17 Season and will present three of four previously announced plays, with an updated production schedule.

American Theater Company (ATC) proudly announces Season 32, led by its newly appointed Artistic Director Will Davis and continuing the theater's dedication to developing new works. The 2016-17 season kicks off this September with the world premiere of Dan Aibel's T., an exploration of the competitive ice skating saga between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, directed byMargot Bordelon, Sept. 23-Oct. 30, 2016. In the New Year, ATC presents Jaclyn Backhaus' Men On Boats, making its regional premiere at ATC Jan. 6-Feb. 12, 2017, under Will Davis' direction after he remounts his acclaimed New York production Off Broadway at Playwrights Horizons this summer. Next spring brings another world premiere at ATC, Basil Kreimendahl's We're Gonna Be Okay, March 17-April 23, 2017. Coming from Kansas and receiving my education there, I have more than a passing familiarity with playwright William Inge. Being born in the small town of Independence, Inge attributed his understanding of human behavior to growing up in a small town environment. The influence of that Kansas childhood is evident in many of his works, which tend to revolve around characters that are clearly the products of places like Independence. I remember the head of my college theatre department dismissing Inge's plays as "domestic dramas", which I thought was an unfair assessment both then and now. While Inge may not have the poetic lyricism of a Tennessee Williams or the overarching high moral message of an Arthur Miller; he did have an understanding of the concerns of average Middle Americans. It was because of this understanding that Inge became labeled the 'Playwright of the Midwest'.
