The story involves the production of a musical version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi.

The iconic red velvet dress worn by actress Judy Garland during the Christmas scene in MGM's classic musical comedy Meet Me in St. Louis is on display in the World's Fair Gallery at the Missouri History Museum now through January 1, 2020. The dress is on loan to the Missouri History Museum from the collection of Mary Strauss.

London's landmark festival of European theatre will return for a seventh year this November to showcase boundary pushing work from across the continent. Following the record-breaking attendance of Festival 2013, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the full 2014 Festival free and ticketed event schedule. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts. Noted dance writer Jennifer Dunning has called the Pillow "the dance center of the nation, possibly the world."

Jane Harvey, who recorded a string of classic hits with the Benny Goodman orchestra in the 1940's and later sang with Desi Arnaz, died Aug. 15 at her home in West Hollywood. She was 88 and the cause was cancer.
