Just So - 1998 - Chester, CT (Regional) History , Info & More

Norma Terris Theatre
North Main Street Chester, CT

Based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling

How did the Elephant get his trunk?br

How did the Leopard get his spots?br

How did the Rhinoceros get his skin?brbr

In the "Just So Stories," Rudyard Kipling created a magical world as he told his daughter fables of the animal kingdom. In "Just So," George Stiles and Anthony Drewe ("Honk!") have created a new musical that weaves five of Mr. Kipling's most famous tales together into a fanciful lesson about personal courage, individuality and friendship.

Review: CLEANSED at CATASTROPHIC THEATRE
by Brett Cullum - Apr 16, 2024

Should you avoid seeing the show? For God’s sake, no. You will miss what is surely going to be one of the most talked about pieces of work in Houston’s theatrical history. Go see it, and make your own call whether you love or hate it. But don’t let them brainwash you into thinking this is only about love because it is also about repulsion, and that is okay. It is very much as if David Cronenberg and David Lynch made a movie, and Jim Henson designed the sex scenes.

The musical, by Terrance McNally, Stephen Flaherty, and Lynn Ahrens, tells the story of the United States in the early 20th century, focusing on the experiences and tensions that existed (and still exist) between different groups of people. It is a beautiful, thoughtful, and thought-provoking show, and audiences can experience it on stage at Dutch Apple through May 12th. Review: JAGGED LITTLE PILL at Dr. Phillips Center " A Case of Alanis More-Is-Less
by Aaron Wallace - Mar 21, 2024

Jagged Little Pill is a show with too many characters, too many concerns, and too tidy a conclusion (complete with a sitcom-ish group laugh at the end). Its heart is in the right place and its message well received, but it relies on an extraordinary confluence of extreme circumstances.
