Penobscot Theatre Company's OLIVER! Tickets On Sale October 3rd

On Monday, October 3, Penobscot Theatre Company will make tickets toOliver!, its much anticipated holiday show, available to the general public. The musical by Lionel Bart will run December 1-24 at the Bangor Opera House in downtown Bangor. Previously offered at a discount to subscribers alone, the tickets will be open for purchase through the box office or the theatre's website, regularly priced at $38 for adults and $15 for students. General adult admission to the preview performances December 1 and 2 will be $25 and $27 respectively. (more...)

Cheryl Baxter-Ratliff  (Los Angeles), Joel & Christine Seger (Massachusetts), and Kelley Manson (Massachusetts) have had their fair share of young adult productions to be proud of.  No matter what coast they are from, they all can agree that kids and teens are "sponges" that can soak up information and that they do not have any bad habits they need to break on stage. La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of Miss You Like Hell, book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful), music and lyrics by acclaimed singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, directed by Lear deBessonet (Public Theatre's The Odyssey) and choreographed by Danny Mefford (Broadway's Fun Home). Commissioned by the Playhouse and developed during the 2016 DNA New Work Series, the production has been extended by one week, now running October 25 - December 4 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. Rising Star Competition Announces Performers Advancing to Week 3 8/16

After a tremendously successful first season, Rise Bar's talent contest returns! The new summer installment will be on TUESDAY nights! The RISING STAR competition began Tuesday August 2nd. Singers compete in an 8 week elimination style contest for a $1000 cash prize and a fully produced, paid solo show at Rise. In addition to the cash and prize package, RISING STAR offers networking opportunities with celebrity judges, fantastic exposure, and valuable live stage experience.
