Minneapolis Musical Theatre opened their season this weekend with the regional premiere of 'Carrie The Musical', an adaptation of the Stephen King novel. I have never seen the 1976 movie or read the book. I was going into the show without any preconceived notions of what the show should or should not be. Admittedly I was nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect, but by the end of 'In' the opening number I knew I was going to enjoy the show. (more...)

Originally meant as a scripted finale to his trilogy on the underbelly of the self-help movement, Lepore decided to open his creative process to the public as a mash-up workshop/ laboratory/ talk show and performance experiment in order to find the essence of what will become an interactive touring piece. South by Southwest (SXSW) continues its film portion of the festival with a special screening of the movie Space Station 76 starring Patrick Wilson as Captain Glenn and is directed by Jack Plotnick. SPACE STATION 76 is a comedic drama about a group of people (and several robots) living on a space station in a 1970's-version of the future. When a new Assistant Captain arrives, she inadvertently ignites tensions among the crew, prompting them to confront their darkest secrets.
