Guest Blog: Director/Adaptor Daniel Goldman on THEBES LAND
by Guest Blog: Daniel Goldman - Nov 25, 2016

Three years ago I saw the original Uruguayan production of Thebes Land in Colombia and came out physically shaking with joy at what it was doing as a piece of theatre. It is simultaneously a moving, funny and at times shocking play about patricide and a moving, funny and always surprising play about the act of making theatre. But what is most special about the show is that it blurs the boundaries between fiction and truth. It is, as writer Sergio Blanco describes, a work of auto-fiction. (more...)

by Brodie Paparella - Dec 5, 2016

We live in uncertain times; today's version of talent is an impressive Instagram following, YouTube killed the show reel, and much of the art forms once adored are phasing out. BWW Review: Cleveland Orchestra Sublime, THE NUTCRACKER Uninspired
by Roy Berko - Dec 2, 2016

When the Cleveland Ballet left this area for San Jose, California, in 2000, it is rumored that the organization was over one-million dollars in debt. Lots of fingers were pointed as to why the deficit existed, but one thing is for sure, there will always be, it the minds of those who saw it, one lasting legacy of Dennis Nahat and his reign as the company's Artistic Director. From its 1979 debut, when it sold out every night of its two-week run, until its escape to the west coast, Nahat's THE NUTCRACKER reigned supreme. (more...)
