Montego Glover and More to Star in The Old Globe's THE ROYALE; Cast & Creatives Set!

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. A.C.T. Extends OLD HATS Through 10/12

Due to overwhelming advance ticket sales, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) has announced that an extra week of performances will be added to the current schedule of the West Coast premiere of the Signature Theatre production of Old Hats. Originally scheduled to close on Sunday, October 5, tickets are now on-sale through Sunday, October 12. Old Hats will perform at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs proudly present two raw and devastatingly humanistic plays running in repertory this May. Sam Shepard's poetic and psychedelic rock and roll drama The Tooth of Crime, directed by Dan Rogers (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '15), and Adam Rapp's surreal and dark new-age comedy, Stone Cold Dead Serious, directed by Flordelino Lagundino (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '15). Performances of both plays run through May 18 in the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence. Identity and racial politics form the foundation of PASSING STRANGE, one of the seminal musicals of our time, and Mixed Blood Theatre's production honors that epic rock legacy, with the added dimension of the intimacy and immediacy of the Alan Page Auditorium. With disparate styles that range from '60's Europop to '70's punk to '80's electronica, to gospel, soul, and funk, to musical theatre, and with a nod to James Brown, this Tony Award winner is a play within a rock concert. Eschewing preconceptions, this band's lead singer is a middle class African American Buddhist rocker ex-pat story-teller, sharing the picaresque journey of his youth via 24 songs. Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, announced today the initial lineup for Pulitzer Fest, a festival of play readings celebrating Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, featuring Labyrinth Theater Company Members and Guest Artists. Five plays will be presented over the course of one week, followed by additional free play readings on the weekend. The weekend schedule will be announced later this month. A post-show discussion with the playwright and a guest moderator will follow select readings for weekday performances. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Managing Director William Russo, has announced the remaining production planned for its 2014/15 Season: Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Jo Bonney, in a co-production with The Public Theater in New York. With disparate styles that range from '60's Europop to '70's punk to '80's electronica, to gospel, soul, and funk, to musical theatre, and with a nod to James Brown, this Tony Award winner is a play within a rock concert. Eschewing preconceptions, this band's lead singer is a middle class African American Buddhist rocker ex-pat story-teller, sharing the picaresque journey of his youth via 24 songs. Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs to Stage THE TOOTH OF CRIME, STONE COLD DEAD SERIOUS in Rep, 5/1-18

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs present two raw and devastatingly humanistic plays running in repertory this May. Sam Shepard's poetic and psychedelic rock and roll drama The Tooth of Crime, opens May 1st and is directed by Dan Rogers (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '15). Alternating with this Shepard play starting May 2nd is Adam Rapp's surreal and dark new-age comedy, Stone Cold Dead Serious, directed by Flordelino Lagundino (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '15). Performances of both plays run May 1 through May 18 in the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence.
