Bliffert Represents North Texas Kettlebell Club at IUKL World Championships, 11/20Bliffert Represents North Texas Kettlebell Club at IUKL World Championships, 11/20
by BWW News Desk - Nov 19, 2014

With each repetition executed in his pre-competition training, BJ Bliffert, Owner & Founder of the North Texas Kettlebell Club and Full Throttle Athletics, inches closer and closer to the World Championships platform in Hamburg, Germany. Only a few months ago, Bliffert placed first in his division and discipline (long cycle) at the IUKL USA National Championships in New York, earning him a hard-earned invitation to compete at the 2014 World Championships on Team USA. To qualify for this coveted spot on Team USA, Bliffert cranked out an impressive 60 repetitions with two 24-kilogram bells (that's a total of 105.6 pounds) over the course of 10 minutes (yes, without setting down the bells). Although familiarity with the existence and intricacies of Girevoy Sport (authentic Russian kettlebell lifting) is still relatively low in the U.S, this is actually the second time in history that the United States is sending a full team of lifters to the World Championships. 'This signifies that the sport is really gaining traction quickly in our country,' proclaims Bliffert. 'I've witnessed (and experienced) just how contagious this sport can be. The World Championships is such an honor...and it's an incredible opportunity to show the world that Americans are 'catching up' in the sport at the highest competitive level.' The 2014 World Championships are expected to experience over 300 competitors from 29 countries across the globe. 'The professional athletes that this competition will showcase will be of such astounding calibur to compete alongside the 'torch-bearers' of this sport will be an experience like no other. For me, the learning never stopsand I intend to continue to bring back this experiential knowledge to my own kettlebell club.' Bliffert's competition experience and progressive victories in the sport will, undoubtedly, continue to attract more competition-hungry folks in the Frisco area that are unafraid to dive into an unfamiliar sporting realm. 'I look forward to continuing the Authentic Russian kettlebell training that we offer here at Full Throttle Athletics. I am extremely proud of our kettlebell athletes and I am confident that more individuals will come forward with the desire to train within the North Texas Kettlebell Club and compete in future kettlebell competitions. In fact, for those that are interested, we (Full Throttle Athletics) will be hosting our second annual kettlebell competition on Dec. 13th: The North Texas Kettlebell Open. If you've never witnessed the sport live, this would be your opportunity to come watch some awesome lifters (both seasoned and novice) battle against the clock.' For more information on Full Throttle Athletics' kettlebell training, contact BJ Bliffert by e-mail at info@fullthrottleathletics.com, or call (469) 362-0453. More details about the North Texas Kettlebell Club can be found here: http://fullthrottleathletics.com/kettlebell-training-2/. (more...)
