The Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center is announcing the full lineup of rare cinema and special guests to be featured at the inaugural Library of Congress Festival of Film and Sound. The new four-day film festival will be held June 15-18 in association with the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center at the American Film Institute's beautifully restored 1938 art deco theater in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein opens the 2018 Pasadena POPS Sierra Summer Concert Series on Saturday, June 23rd with That's Entertainment: Gershwin to Sondheim. Two books in the University Press of Kentucky's Screen Classics series have been named award finalists by the Theatre Library Association.Ziegfeld and His Follies: A Biography of Broadway's Greatest Producer by Cynthia Brideson and Sara Brideson was one of ten finalists for the George Freedley Memorial Award for an exemplary work in the field of live theatre or performance. In addition, Dalton Trumbo: Blacklisted Hollywood Radical by Larry Ceplair and Christopher Trumbo was one of eight finalists for the Richard Wall Memorial Award for an exemplary work in the field of recorded performance.
