The Shape of Things premiered in London in2001, with direction by LaBute himself. The cast featured Paul Rudd, Rachel Weiz, GretchenMol, and Frederick Weller. The cast reprised their roles in the 2003 movie, also directed by LaBute. The Shape of Things follows the seduction and subsequent make over of hapless English undergradAdam by the provocative anarchistic M.F.A student Evelyn. The Shape of Things is considered the first inwhat is often referred to as LaBute's "Beauty Trilogy."

Rising Sun Performance Company started out in a tiny coffee shop on 50th street, in 2001 with myself and two friends- David Anthony and Danielle Montezinos and a big idea.  The great big 'What If' - What if we created a place where we as performers were generating the work, selecting the work and casting ourselves? The men hope that Godot will change their lives for the better. Instead, two eccentric travelers arrive, one man on the end of the other's rope.
