Signature Theatre Company's production of Tony Kushner's THE ILLUSION, directed by Michael Mayer will close on Sunday, July 17, 2011.

Signature Theatre Company celebrated opening night of Tony Kushner's THE ILLUSION last month. The show features Peter Bartlett (The Drowsy Chaperone, 'One Life to Live'), Sean Dugan (Next Fall, 'Oz'), David Margulies (Conversations With My Father, Wonderful Town), Amanda Quaid (Equus, Banished Children of Eve), Lois Smith (The Trip to Bountiful, 'True Blood'), Henry Stram (Inherit the Wind, See What I Wanna See), Merritt Wever ('Nurse Jackie', Tiny Furniture) and Finn Wittrock ('All My Children', The Age of Iron.) Playwright Tony Kushner hopes audiences will be as enthralled by the stage magic in THE ILLUSION as he is. In this new video, just out from Signature, Kushner discusses the importance of creating the duality of reality and fiction on stage, conjuring a form of 'rational skepticism' that leads the audience to a surprising conclusion.

The production features scenic design by Christine Jones, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kevin Adams, sound design by Bray Poor and fight direction by Rick Sordelet.
