Hangar Theatre kicks off its 2013 season on June 13th with Neil Simon's irresistible comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers, which runs through June 29. Featuring a stellar cast including three Broadway favorites, this seminal work will be directed by Hangar Associate Artistic Director Jesse Bush. Last of the Red Hot Lovers had its original Broadway run from 1969-1971 and received four Tony nominations, including for Best Play. Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) kicks off the 2013 Uptown Series with the world premiere of The Tutors, written by Erica Lipez and directed by Thomas Kail. The Tutors will feature Louis Ozawa Changchien ( Second Stage's Warrior Class), Matt Dellapina (The Dream Of The Burning Boy), Aubrey Dollar ('Guiding Light'), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi) and Chris Perfetti (Picnic). Performances begin in just five weeks for the third annual Next Up, continuing Steppenwolf Theatre Company's commitment to Chicago's next generation of theater artists. Next Up features three productions presented in rotating repertory, in collaboration with Northwestern University's MFA programs in Direction and Design. Next Up 2013 showcases the work of graduates of those programs with casts of professional Chicago actors-including nine alumni of the School at Steppenwolf: Fat Pig by Neil LaBute, directed by David Prete; The Drunken City by Adam Bock, directed by Johnny Michael DiResta; and The Internationalist by Anne Washburn, directed by Erin Murray.
