Elmira A.T. Shares THE LAW OF ATTRACTION OR THE LAW OF THE OBSERVER
by BWW News Desk - Nov 22, 2016

The universe and all its wonders have been a mystery to humans since they first looked up at the stars. Author Elmira A. T. shares her theories about the universe, God, the power of the mind and the theory of wave-particle duality in quantum physics in a new book released by Dog Ear Publishing. As she writes, 'quantum is the science of possibilities.' Her book, 'The Law of Attraction or the Law of the Observer,' shares Elmira's observations after years of studying such practices as Reiki and Halghe mysticism and their relationship to the physical realm. It wasn't until she began studying physics at the university that Elmira was drawn to the wave-particle duality theory, which posits the importance of the observer and that person's influence on the behavior of photons. Such theories from quantum physics match her experiences with her own mind, she writes, and led her to her own theory of success called the Law of the Observer. The author further describes what she calls the collective mind, an intelligence shared by humanity that leads the conscious and subconscious mind to another theory, that of the Law of Attraction. Taken together, the two theories provide new avenues for people to reach personal goals and attain success, influencing how they interact with the world around them. String theory, parallel universes, destiny, love, the peaceful mind and logic as a disease are all topics she explores in the context of becoming a successful person who can achieve goals. In the end, Elmira writes, the power of the mind is limited only by limits people put on themselves: 'Realities are first created in our mind and then we experience them.' Elmire A.T. has been interested in the mechanisms of the universe and ways to attract success since she was a girl in Iran. She studied physics at Zanjan University, where what she learned about quantum physics changed her life. She also studies Reiki, meditation, Zen and Halghe mysticism, making The Connection those practices have with the physical world. Mahsa Talehpasand created the artwork in the book. BWW Blog: Amanda Grillo - Body Positivity in Theatre
by Guest Blogger: Amanda Grillo - Jan 13, 2017

It's everywhere. Body Positive ads and videos work its way into the media on practically a daily basis. Stores are expanding the sizes they carry, girls are encouraged to embrace their curves, but all the same a photoshopped fantasy takes over our minds thinking what the ideal image is. I decided to take a look at how this affects the theatre world that I am so blessed to be a part of. I surveyed one hundred random, anonymous participants. The survey was distributed to several different theatre pages on social media where participants have a wide range of experiences and opinions. I also had the pleasure to interview Michael Kennedy (a student at the University of New Haven), Stephen Sheperd (a recent alumnus of the University of New Haven), and Diana Dart Harris (a professor at the University of New Haven whom has degrees in both dance education and exercise science). BWW Review: IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Delights Christmas Enthusiasts in Round Rock, TX
by Amy Bradley - Dec 8, 2016

Back by popular demand, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE sparkles in the quaint performance space of Old Settler's Hall. Festively located next to Round Rock's "Christmas Towne", IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE provides more of an experience than a traditional retelling of everyone's favorite classic Christmas Story. Adapted from the beloved radio play / broadcast, the Penfold Theatre Company has brought this adaptation back to life, with magical elements the whole family will enjoy. Setting the stage in a quiet and whimsical hall, the audience is transported to 1946 as members of KPNF radio station. Back then family members gathered around the hearth to listen to the classic Christmas cast. For those unfamiliar with this sweet story, see George Bailey (played by Penfold Artistic Director Ryan Crowder), a man who, through fateful circumstances, gave up his dreams of traveling the world for the good of the people in his hometown Bedford Falls. A slew of events catapults Bailey onto a bridge contemplating suicide on Christmas Eve. What happens between his birth and George's contemplation of death, are the subject of the plot. This shines a light on the many struggles of humanity and brings into focus the humility the holiday season harkens from an individual. (more...)
