Edifecs Tackles Interoperability Issues for the Healthcare IndustryEdifecs Tackles Interoperability Issues for the Healthcare Industry
by BWW News Desk - Feb 9, 2015

To demonstrate cross-enterprise interoperability between payers and providers, Edifecs leveraged Open EMR, Edifecs XEServer and a third-party Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) server. As part of the demonstration, the Edifecs team successfully converted Continuity of Care Document (CCD) to an FHIR Patient Resource with integration to Open EMR. In the simple but important demonstration, Edifecs was able to show that investments by the industry in CDA R.2 constructs can be leveraged and made interoperable using FHIR Resources without a major re-write of interfaces and native EMR functionality. Orange County, Calif.—Feb. 19, 2015—Enjoy the ever-progressing capabilities of music by “Bach, Beethoven and Bart?k” in the second concert of Pacific Symphony's 2014-15 Café Ludwig chamber series, which explores music written at the early, middle and late periods of a composer's life. Led by charismatic pianist and host Orli Shaham, this year's series features the Symphony's Principal Cellist Timothy Landauer performing three of Beethoven's Cello Sonatas over the course of the season. For this concert, Landauer's cello shines in equal interplay with Shaham's piano during the Cello Sonata No. 3, a work full of serene emotion. The concert opens with Bach's Trio Sonata for Two Flutes and Piano, which features a genius display of counterpoint played by Principal Flutist Benjamin Smolen and flutist Sharon O'Connor. Guest pianist Peter Henderson joins the Symphony musicians for Bart?k's Concerto for Two Pianos and Percussion, playing alongside Shaham, Principal Timpanist Todd Miller and Principal Percussionist Robert Slack. by Remy Block - Feb 12, 2015

Marissa Mulder, who has been collecting rave reviews and awards in bunches over the past couple of years, debuted her new solo show, Instincts (with musical director Nate Buccieri), to a packed Metropolitan Room on Friday night January 30. It was the first effort in her new 'Residency' at the Chelsea club, not a surprising status given her steady climb up the cabaret singer hierarchy. Mulder offered an eclectic program of songs by artists from Cy Coleman to Radiohead, representing 'a snapshot of where [her] life is right now, a week away from 30.' Her distinctive vocal sound-sincere yet playful and sounding like a combination of a bell and a trumpet-is uniquely expressive, perhaps from 'living instinctively for quite a while now,' as she said in one her of her rare moments of interstitial patter.
