Technically Acceptable finds Iverson at the helm of two different trios—with bass/drum teams Thomas Morgan/Kush Abadey and Simón Willson/Vinnie Sperrazza— performing a set of new originals plus singular new versions of Roberta Flack's “Killing Me Softly With His Song” and Thelonious Monk's “‘Round Midnight,” the latter featuring Rob Schwimmer.

“Who Are You, Really?” appends a Dexter Gordon quote to a joyously catchy tune that dances around Thomas Morgan's robust bass line and drummer Kush Abadey's assured swing. Iverson will be celebrating the album release at the Village Vanguard in New York City from Jan. 23-28 followed by European and U.S. tours.

From tonight, November 1 through 9, 2013, Museum of the Moving Image will present Anja Breien: Games of Love and Loneliness, the first U.S. retrospective of Breien's work, featuring six features and a program of shorts, with the director in person for select screenings and for an opening reception.

On the night when baseball's all-stars were blasting dingers into the bleachers of Yankee Stadium, the cast of Scott Siegel's A Night At The Operetta, was having their own home run derby on the stage of Town Hall, knocking melodies by Victor Herbert, Sigmund Romberg and Rudolf Friml out of the park.  And in both cases, the crowd frequently went nuts.
