Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of three new members of the artistic staff: Grace Holmes as the new Director of Kansas City Ballet School, Kristi Capps as the new Ballet Master and Anthony Krutzkamp as newly created position of Manager of KCB II. Carney also announced eleven new members of the Company, increasing the Company from 28 to 29 members for the 2014-2015 season. He also announced the appointment of four new KCB II dancers, which stands at six members. Carney also announced the creation of a Trainee Program with five students, two selected from Kansas City Ballet School. (more...)

In addition to the growth in adoption of streaming players, consumers are showing a clear preference for the streaming players they use most. In a recent study1, consumers were asked how often their household uses a device to stream video to the TV. Roku is the most popular choice among streaming players accounting for an aggregate 37 million hours of video streamed per week compared to Apple TV at 15 million hours, Chromecast at 12 million hours and Amazon Fire TV at six million hours. In addition, when consumers were asked how likely they are to refer a friend to a device, Roku was the leading choice with a Net Promoter Score of 46, followed by Apple TV at 30, Chromecast at 23 and Amazon Fire TV at 15. RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Accounting Degree Review, a leading site about accounting degrees and related topics, released their 2014-2015 ranking of the 30 most affordable online accounting bachelor's degrees. Western Governors University's online program led the way with an annual tuition of only $5,780. The fifth ranked school, Western International University, was notable because it recently reduced its tuition by 51%. When most colleges and universities are raising or keeping their tuition the same, last year Western International University dropped their tuition from $14,900 to $7,600. This exhibition joins Rudy Shepherd's public art exhibition Black Rock Negative Energy Absorber and newly painted murals in First Park, located on Houston Street between 1st and 2ndAvenues. Heinz May's fragmented wooden sculpture, sited along the gravel pathway along the eastern end of the park, provides a contemporary reinterpretation of Manhattan trees. Only two weeks later, Bernstein asked him to substitute at the last minute for the ailing Glenn Gould in performances of Liszt's E-flat Concerto with the New York Philharmonic, thus launching his career in storybook fashion.
