Rover Dramawerks presents 10-Minute Play Festival

For the third year, Rover Dramawerks is pleased to present a festival of 10-minute comedies. Selected from over 300 plays submitted blind from playwrights all over the world, nine short plays will be presented July 20 -29. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Rover Dramawerks, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. ???????Eugene O'Neill's celebrated Pulitzer Prize winning drama and hit of the 2016 season, is returning to the Wharf House at the Provincetown Marina for 2017. The Provincetown Dramatic Arts production of Anna Christie was selected as one of the Best Plays of 2016 and Sarah MacDonnell was honored as one of the best female performances in her role of Anna (by the Cape Cod Times). Milwaukee Rep Holds Auditions for Professional Training Institute

In a recent interview with Daily Beast, playwright Tony Kushner chats about one of his current projects- WEST SIDE STORY. Kushner is rewriting the book for the classic movie for director Steven Spielberg. Don't expect any changes to the score, however. "I am not touching in any way the greatest score of a musical ever written,' says Kushner. 'I love the [1961] film. Who doesn't? I am not changing the story, the setting, the period. It is still the Upper West Side in the late 1950s, but I'm exploring the story.' (more...)
