Danny Trejo's BOOST to Premiere at 15th Annual FirstGlance Film FestivalDanny Trejo's BOOST to Premiere at 15th Annual FirstGlance Film Festival
by BWW News Desk - Apr 17, 2015

On Friday, April 24, 2015, BOOST (GF Pictures) will make its first public screening at The 15th Annual FirstGlance Film Festival opening night at The Regal Cinemas L.A LIVE (1000 W. Olympic Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90015). Written and directed by Nathan Gabaeff, starring Grazi DiPaolo, Justin Dray, and Danny Trejo, BOOST is a crime thriller that puts you in a whirlwind when car thief Jimmy (DiPaolo) finds a human kidney in the trunk of his latest boost. He is then thrust into a violent underworld of criminals and a race against the clock to save a little girl's life. FirstGlance Film Festival has become one of the fastest growing independent film festivals in Los Angeles. Named five times as one of the 'Best Film Festival Investments' by Movie Maker Magazine and 'One of the Festivals for the Rest of Us' by TIME Magazine, FirstGlance has become a leader in mid-sized festival circuit. It brings indie filmmakers and audiences together all year round with online contests and events that allow them to interact with one another giving them the attention they deserve. The opening night will feature some of the cast and crew of BOOST on the Red carpet and a meet and greet at the after party at Hotel Figueroa, a timeless and enduring gem in downtown Los Angeles. BOOST is the directorial debut of Nathan Gabaeff, a San Diego native from a family of both entrepreneurs and creative individuals. He began writing screenplays after his brother Isaac (also a filmmaker), turned one of his stories into a movie script. Since then, he has devoted his life to the craft of screen writing, which in turn lead to producing and directing. Gabaeff also showcased his arrays of talents in this film by teaming up with his best friend Spencer Brock and composing the score for BOOST under their music production name, Little Kinky. The film's producer, Leah Melendez, a South Jersey native, was able to secure household name, Danny Trejo to play 'Roy', a janky mechanic that double crosses a powerful gangster, putting everyone's life in danger. BOOST includes rising Detroit native actor, Grazi DiPaolo along with veteran actors Justin Dray and Rob Nagle. The cast and crew are excited to share their work with the world. General admission tickets for the 15th Annual FirstGlance Film Festival on Friday, April 24, 2015 at The Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE can be purchased at http://firstglancefilms.com. He's performing the waltzy song acoustically, voice full out in opposition to lyric mood. The back of the house undoubtedly finds sound muted. “This is how you would've heard a band singer in 1925, before a new technique called 'crooning',” he tells us. “From the time I started working, they always called me a crooner.” (more...)
